Aretha and Irma's Story
Irma was the first to go secular, forming a girl group the Cleopatrats. Franklin had never seen secular music as sinful and he encouraged his daughters in their ambitions. Aretha would later talk about getting dressed up just to watch Cook appear on the TV.
