The Importance of Opportunity in College Admissions
I've always had concern when we make the shift away from equality of opportunity to a quality of outcome. And it's very concerning because I think it limits progress and opportunity for everyone. The real challenge with this particular topic is college admissions about outcome or is it about opportunity? It's outcome in the sense that you spend 12 years going to elementary school and high school and working hard to get yourself into college. Some people aren't given the opportunity to have success during those 12 years. What do you think we should do?
