The Mary Rose was a 16th century English Tudor worship that capsized off the Isle of Right and was raised up in the 1970s. The Vassa is a Swedish worship that sank in the Stockholm harbor on its maiden voyage in 1628. There are a lot of conservation issues, even if you manage to raise the funds to raise the ship. Some shipwrecks don't have a lot of marine life growth on it. They're not having a big ecological impact. And then some are just like, no, it's doing more good where it is.

Shipwrecks. Treasure. Sunken planes. Scuttled submarines. New life forming around old machinery. There’s an -ology for that -- just ask Maritime Archaeologist and wreck nerd Chanelle Zaphiropoulos. This absolutely charming and passionate scuba diver, history buff and antiquities scholar dishes about pirates, warships, admirals worth admiring, and ships ranging in size from water taxis to the Costa Concordia and Titanic.
