How I Got Into Protein Engineering
Protein engineering is a new area of study for Fei-Fei Li. She and her colleagues are using machine learning to predict protein sequences. They're doing it in silico screening until they find what they want, she says. It's the opposite of codon optimization, where you try to optimize redundant code that goes from nucleotides to amino acids.
