Ukrane Is a Major Bread Basket of the Soviet Union
Ukrane was a bread basket of the soviet union. It's not like they have this big industrial base where they can really be dominant. They do have a lot of human capital there, and could become centre for european investment if russia is expelled. If german companies open up factories in ukraine, it will create low cost workers. The war itself allows them to clear away some of the oligarchic influences in the economy.
