The Church Holds Back Progress

The church is a not as powerful as people might imagine in terms of controlling what people can study. But more importantly, they're in love with science. They think that science is brilliant because it proves how God works. So the idea that the church is stifling science is already nonsense. And if you say, well, no, theology doesn't count as a science then you're already misunderstanding what it was that people were trying to do.
