This has to do the individual salvation of those who believe, verses those who are trying to strive through works. So why did god preach the gospel igive this gospel promise in this way? It's so that we can see that we depend on god for our salvation. And but rather, it'sa because of him who calls. This call is the call of the gospel. It's not le it's not an unconditional election. It's the gospel. What the calvinist hears,. They hear the effectual call there. That's what they read into that verse. But any one can believe in christ.
