The Neurotic Selfish Side of the Problem of the Enlightenment
The heart lives in the present, it's nowhere else. Our memories are devoid of it and our projections of the future cannot conjuring. So our worst case scenarios are always driven by our neurotic fear of death. That doesn't mean they are not based on real objective things that really exist. But we reproduce them and heighten their frequency because they are not counter poised to a grounded sense of love. Because the dream of capitalism is everyone is barren, everyone is a king. It is the Roman conception of identity turned into God,. which is why Christianity getting absorbed in the Roman Empire was the end of Christianity.
