Clotho and Cognitive Decline

Cognitive decline from aging is one of our most pressing biomedical problems without truly effective medicines, says Dina DuBalle. Produced by the kidney, Clotho circulates in the blood and has been linked to health and lifespan. The protein was first discovered in 1997 by pathologist Makoto Kuroo at the National Institute of Neuroscience in Tokyo.
