Narcissism and Attachment Theory
Narcissism is very often a condition or a set of traits that implies a sort of disorder of attachment. Or at least some problems with attachment in that narcissist have difficulty forming attachments with people that are humanizing. It's difficult for narcissists to do that because the way in which they engage in object relations from the outset makes the other person. They tend to objectify more than the quote unquote average person right so people become means into an end. The book isn't intended to make anybody wrong or bad but it's to help help shed some light on and give insight to these types of people that people experience all the time.
