Is Malta EU?

Malta is an EU country, but it's one of you can buy citizenship there. A lot of organized criminals in like Russia, uh, or even like China would buy citizenship in Malta because then that was your gateway to the entire EU. How much does it cost to become a citizen of Malta? That was a thing. It was more expensive than like these little Caribbean islands, but way cheaper than anywhere like you would expect for an EU country. They could turn this into a, you know, planet mafia country.
