i think there is a tension here between ukraine on the one hand and nato on the other. Nato doesn't want to do that because ukrane is not a nato country. i'd be surprised if he's not named man of the year for rallying world opinion. But western countries are being quite resistant to getting too drawn into his war. There is a line, o red line, and that line is nato's eastern flank.
