We don't perceive all of reality. We only feel oselve, so true. So we tend to think that we know everything that's going on, but actually we're filtering out anything that seems irrelevant. And the brain decides what's irrelevant by saying, ok, well, im going to make sure you see anything that resonates with what's already top and mind for you, and we'll filter out everything else. A sad people will rate a hill as steeper and less pleasant to climb. People wo've been deliberately put in a bad mood will perceive other people is less likeable rit and so it goes on.
