The Importance of Sacrificing the Present to the Future

In Genesis, god chases Adam and Eve to paradise but tells them that they're going to have to work. And the reason we work is because, well, you're doing fine right now, but what about five years from now? It's like thoy're going to sacrifice the present to the future. That took me about 20 years to figure out exact what that sacrificial motif meant in in genesis. But what it meant was it was indistinguished, to outline that in 12 rules for life, i was indistinguishable from the discovery of the future.
