The Importance of the History of Philosophy

This is an unusual episode because there was so much contemporary material that I felt was relevant to really showing how important this particular chapter is at this time in history. We're going to get into the reading now we're going to make that an entirely different episode and so I've split this up into two episodes after all this one I guess was setting the stage but if you'd like to go to the next episode that's where the reading is um. Poppa was all about when talking about the ancient philosophers or even the pre-modern philosophers was always at great pains to talk about the problem situation in which they found themselves.
