12 hours after the initial grounding, so that would be around 1 p.m., Captain Yardley ordered, evacuate the passengers. The crew put a line ashore, and with a winch brought that line tight so it didn't sag down into the water. With the crew member holding each end of the boat onto the wire, they're wearing heavy gloves. They guided the lifeboats along this line to shore. So remarkably, there were no deaths. Would this be a skillful evacuation or just good luck or perhaps, I don't know, both? Both, I think.
