The whole jew versus gentile contrast is big in the first century. And t jealousy of the jews and ther their jealousy of the popularity of the christian way of that time. When the jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began contradicting the things spoken by p Paul. The word of god must be spoken to you first. In other words, i came to my own and the own did not receive me. But notice that somewhat says here, or barnabas, since you repudiate it and consider yourselves unworthy of eternal life. You perish because you refuse to love the truth so as to be saved.
