Sally Kohn: I'm from a big Caribbean family. My dad was like an old school engineer and very kind of immigrant mentality. He says philosophy was, if you can't build it, then you shouldn't be using it. From the time I was seven, he used to always buy me the parts of a computer to build my computers. And I just fell in love with building. That evolved into me actually getting my first job at 14 in the chemistry labs at UNC Chapel Hill. She went on to become one of the youngest published chemists in the world at 19.
