Is There a Need for a National Carrier?
Sen: India has long and sensitive borders in areas where the surface connections are very poor. I think it's a great idea to have a national carrier for ferrying troops, paramilitary forces, police personnel,. polling parties during elections and during national calamities. But now we seem to have abandoned that idea of a national carrier with the sale of Air India. He says if you allow operational freedom and you induct the proper talent, there's no reason why government should not make a success of any enterprise.
