Blackbeard's Pirate Attacks
Edward Thatch now better known as blackbeard continued to sail around the coastlines of the Caribbean plundering loot and commandeering ships. In late 1718 his flotilla appeared at the mouth of charles town harbor on the south carolina coast blockading an entire port. Blackbeard sent a few trusted crewmen into the city to present his demands forcing the leaders of charles Town to make an impossible decision. No pirate in decades had made such an audacious attack until that time.
