Many Bitcoiners maintain that they can imagine a collapse of the system. They might argue that that's not going to happen, but at least I think your perspective is clear, too. For example, people buy and hold the S&P through index funds. And then it goes sideways like the Nikkei has gone sideways for 30 plus years. Now America would not act as rich for sure as it does today, but I can imagine that. Why not? It's happened in Japan.
