The Different Characteristics of Bonds

Bonds can be characterized as either ionic or covalent. Ionic bonds occur when an electron is essentially given from one atom to another and they form a bond. Covalent bonds, on the other hand, are when electrons are shared between two atoms. And these are created from overlapping orbitals, which are what I talked about with the pi and sigma bonds. Next thing I want to talk about is how to use the periodic table on the MCAT.
