Why I Can't Read the Bible Without a Commentary?
As a lifelong christian, i have taken a more serious interest in biblical scholarship. This has led me to tons of great books about the bible. I'm at the point now where i feel like i read it, if i read it unassisted, that i'll completely miss the meaning of the text or misinterpret it entirely. A mick wants to relieve you from this guilt. And nice to feel guilty, like, why i just can't read the bible without a commentary?
