The Divorce of Tom Shiv

I think Tom has everything to lose it's always hard and a fascinating question how much of Tom and Shiv is based in anything real and in love and how much of it is based purely on a sense of personal gain. I wonder if him tying up all these other lawyers may have some element of him just not wanting the divorce to proceed at this point. Ryan Cox did talk about the conversation and the writers from about the scene because he's a little bit more open and not on the attack  in writing it.
