The Role of the First Amendment in Bans on Hate Speech
Is there a rational basis in a reasonable basis for banning hate speech? I think the premise of bans on hate speech is that they are a tool to tamp down and eliminate hateful attitudes. In our modern iteration to whether it's the dark web or shadowy arenas where people organize outside of view it can provoke also a very pitched and fierce backlash. People feel like their speech is being suppressed and they are even more determined to get it across through action.
