The Myth of the Alpha Male

If you watch chimpanzees communicating non-verbally, you more or less know exactly what they're doing because we do the same. And then what about body language? What do we learn about the way that chimps communicate through the gestures they make? I'm curious about other human analogs and parallels there. One thing that I was really interested in is when you talk about how the alpha males often lose their position or they don't live as long in some cases. The myth of the alpha male is very pervasive and persistent in societies around the world.
