The Role of the Mind in Goal Alignment
I would maybe be tempted when you say the mind is dead. It's nice because it's like playing off that God is dead thing. But there is still a very real role for the mind. And so as we start breaking out the complexities and the nuances of what role do our minds have in society going forward? And if we are trying to look at this large computational problem of goal alignment, what is that role? And to me, it's a legitimate question. Those are all really cool and fun questions we can play with on once we have the free space to do so but we're not in a safe place right now as a species at all. We're under extreme threat.
