How Do You Know if Your Partner Is a Lie?
In one experiment, participants were asked to write down four true statements about themselves and one lie. They then showed their partner the statement they had written as a test of how well they knew each other. In that condition, people thought it was more likely partners would be able to figure out which claim was false. The same effect is seen in another study where you get no information or 4 facts from your partner. It's possible if we included richer details about this person’s life, that going from one to four would be more meaningful.
