The Different Sides of Stoicism

Stoicism is a collection of wise observations about the world that have been riffed on and recycled and reused for thousands of years by people in all these different positions. There's this piece of stoicism that feels more stoic, which is being the rock and not being affected. But there's also a lot of flow in stoicism, rather than being a rock, being a river kind of thing. And I think where this gets solved in stoicism is what Epictetus said was sort of the primary task of philosopher: discern what is in our control and what is outside of our control.
