Judge Newman's Mental Capacity to Decide Cases

The committee decided affirmatively not to conduct any interviews with the other judges. All of this is based very explicitly on reports from court staff. The best information about Judge Newman's capacity to decide cases would be the judges who over the last two or three years have sat in private conferences after the argument and thrashed out the issue. Did she understand what was being said? Were her comments cogent? Were they responsive to the issues in the case?
