The Myth of Left and Right

The way I like to think about it is this. Just imagine going to anyone who identifies as left wing and to say, all right, here's your task. Say something good about markets and then shut up. And similarly, very hard to find any person who self-identifies his right wing will just say good stuff about the left without then taking it back. That is the psychological barrier that is very hard for people to overcome because they do have this tribe in the hearts. But anyway, if you're in this view, you might think that conservatives would be real hardliners on COVID lockdowns when of course it wasn't that way five years ago.
