The Importance of Candidate Development
In most of our states in 40 out of 50 being in the state legislature is a part-time job and you don't really have staff. When we are looking at candidates like I said we really prioritize candidates who will knock on doors for many reasons one of which is it's a great persuasion, gets folks out to vote but also because when candidates engage with constituents that way is a form of development that helps them to become better representatives once they eventually serve.
