Was It Based on a Hammer Law?

Tribal law was primarily a tribal law. Different tribes had different laws. High emphasis on honor, on tribal honor and compensation culture. In terms of ro crimes, for example, committed by one member of a tribe against another, which required retaliation. Normally the father was now to be the woman's property. So so the koran brings with it a set of er legal ideas swhich sometimes reform, sometimes reject, the laws which existed in the pre er, in the pre islamic period.
