The History of Attila

Attila was the son of Munzuk and Bleda, who ruled with their brother Octar. The Hunnic Empire at this time was centered north of the Danube river in what is today modern day Romania and Hungary. In 434, Attila's uncle King Ruggah died leaving him as the sole leader of the Huns. He began to up his attacks on the Eastern Roman Empire in the Western Balkans after he intended to marry a woman named Valentinian III. However, Honyara demanded half of the Western Empire as dowry for her betrothed but she did not want to marry an illiterate man.
