Biometric Surveillance Is the 20 First Century Equivalent of Wire Taping
The idea that the government could listen in to your private calls, or even e potentially more evasively, come inside your home and stick a device inthe would enable the government to hear what you're saying. It was shocking. And so the legislature took very strong action to impose a really high bar on government use of that technology. I think biometric surveillance, remote biometric surveillance,. facial recognition, is the 20 first century equivalent of wire tapping in that sense. Soit does make sense that chair day and chair aldridge have been taking a lot of time to think carefully about what the recommendations to the legislature ought to like.
