The Importance of World War I in Social Studies

Maine is a big acronym used with World War I, militarism, alliances, imperialism, and nationalism. Students have already learned about imperialism at this point. Get them into the idea that history is always happening around us, right? That everything is history. Today, we're living through multiple wars in Ukraine and Sudan. There's totalitarianism that's coming about all over. And so really getting them involved in that like the fact that history is among us was one start.
