The postmodernist got something right they figured out in some real sense that the problem of perception was intractable so imagine there's a multitude of interpretations for any given text you have students read Macbeth, 30 students write 30 essays all have different opinions. We're competing to see who gets to make other people do what we want which is the basis not only for social organization but for perception itself.
