China's Trade Restrictions and Diplomatic Freeze - Why on Earth Would China Relent?

In recent months, we've seen a bit of a tactical shift in China's diplomacy towards a whole host of countries. In particular, close US allies and partners that China would prefer to not have so tightly aligned with the United States. So it's entirely possible that Beijing is playing a much longer, much more strategic game than just relenting in the face of more sunny side deployments here from Canberra.
