Sally Kohn: In your book, you paint a picture of how we're spending so much of our time these days and what you call the hyperactive hive mind. You write that as knowledge workers, we essentially partition our attention into two parallel tracks. One executing work tasks and the other managing an always present electronic conversation about them. She says it's not harmless to just say, "Oh well, instead of grabbing this question I'll shoot off a quick email," because those back and forth emails might generate something like five or six emails right away.
