The Role of Mysticism in Philosophy

When I was a teenager, I rebelled against my mother becoming Christian. And the idea that there was some peak spiritual human experience that a person could have union with God is very intriguing and appealing to me. So even before, and I carry that through to my interest in philosophy there's always a trace of my original love of the mystical experience as mystics themselves right about it That carried over into philosophy so in some sense what I'm trying to say is, there's even another way in which philosophy and theology are not so distinct but they coalesce in this weird way for me.
