He was in a group who had surveillance of the Orthodox Church and artists. He tried to hide it, but it's absolutely certain that he did it for about three years. And then after one more year's training went to East Germany which was not what he'd wanted. There wasn't much that went on in Dresden. He basically hibernated. He drank a lot of German beer. It was a kind of interlude when he didn't actually do a great deal. But I think must have undoubtedly been a disappointment at a certain level.
