One of these big open questions is how do supermassive black holes grow to the sizes that they are in the universe today? So we understand how when galaxies merge, which, you know, this sounds like a very violent thing. Every galaxy will go through one major merger in its lifetime. And so we understand how if supermassive black hole can find each other and merge, they can get bigger and bigger and bigger. But for that,. I think we would need some intermediate mass black holes.
