The Protestant Reformation and Money Making

The Protestant Reformation is central to understanding the rise of capitalism. In many ways Catholics, especially after the Second World War, are joining in this party too. I think that what happens here is that some money rushes in to fill that kind of sacramental vacuum or that kind of moral or ontological vacuum. And so when you get into the 19th and 20th centuries, particularly evangelical Protestantism has become good God.
