This is a problem not only for pathogens that are replicating inside of ourselves, but then if it's self damage from our own DNA could lead to autoimmune diseases. I think that's probably one of the hottest fields right now is to try to understand what these sensors are and how do you tell the difference between DNA that's either inside the nucleus or outside. And so the importance of this in cancer biology, as well as a number of different types of auto inflammatory diseases where people make too much interfere on their genes.
