The Three Commandments of Jesus Christ in Matthew 8
Matthew eight begins a series of dramatic actions that jesus performs in healings, exorcisms and other wonders. Jesus statement concerning the foxes and the birds of the air might be a subtle reference to rulers within the land and to gentile rulers more generally. And then there's a message concerning discipleship. This message underlies the difficulty of discipleship both in the fact of not having somewhere to lay your head and also of having to leave things behind in a radical way.
