The Shadow Never Comes Again

No matter how much the man waited, then beckoned, pleaded and finally wrung his hands, his shadow was gone. It was sad, missing something you never thought about. How had he lost? Something one never had to try and keep. In some ways, being deserted by or shadow was nt even lower low than talking to it. N yet, there was hope. Could shadows grow? If they could walk away, why not grow? Over the next few days and weeks, the man's shadow grew like a boy into a man. Soon it was even bigger than his original. He set out his candle and settled on to the balcony. Perhaps his shadow would return and share
