The Differentiating Factor in a Classroom

With critical disability studies and MAD studies, there's an ethic around how we would understand disability and mental health. It repositions the person with a disability or individual who identifies as MAD as the expert. They are the individual who possesses the knowledge of their own experience in the world; they have value. And this counters an approach that would pathologize an individual and see them as deficient or lacking and in need of fixing at the individual level.
