As women, we are encouraged to be around other people. So how did that shape or effect your journey towards learning to value this alone time for yourself? I don't think I ever got it from my Muslim community growing up. And there is a narrative in all faith communities of any religion about when you're going to get married. You know, when are you going to settle down? There is a narrative coming from within that faith community that is pushing you towards another human - which is the opposite of a loan. My mum likes to be alone and she likes to go off by herself A LOT. She would leave me and my brother at home with my dad and she would go to cinema
