The Blues Breakers

John McVee was back in the blues breakers, promising to keep his drinking under control. Mike Vernon still thought that Mayall had potential, but the people at Deckard didn't agree. So Vernon got Mayall and Clapton, but not the other band members, to record a single for small and delay-able UAM as a side project. That label normally only released records in print runs of 99 copies, because once you hit 100 copies you had to pay tax on them. There was so much demand for that single that they ended up pressing up 500 copies, making it the label's biggest seller ever.
