How EMDR Can Tap Into Dissociative Memory

Michael: Can you talk about how EMDR can really, I guess sort of like along that same line of how it can tap into dissociative or dissociated experiences and memories. Michael: Many of the memories that people have that are related to symptoms or difficulties that they're having are what we would call implicit memories. And so by just trusting that the brain and the body are going to offer up what needs to get addressed, we begin there. There's no such thing as an absolute truth, right? Memory is messy, slippery, but somehow a client through this process, with their own personal effort, will arrive at their own emotional truth.
